From the ocho-parada to the ocho-cortado we will explore effective communication to enable independent follower embellishments.
This all-level technique class will focus on the development of forward and backward crosses for leaders which can be applied in a variety of ways, including walking, turns, and enrosques. Must be willing to share basic lead/follow movements.
Just because something is simple doesn’t mean it’s easy. This class uses fundamental movements to create elegant, musical figures that work within the line of dance. These classic patterns are a fun and space-efficient way to re-imagine walking.
In this class, we’ll take a new look at a familiar figure. We'll explore how to lead and follow different versions of the ocho cortado. We’ll also consider how the music paves the way for different styling, embellishment, and rhythmic modifications and look at musical opportunities for different possibilities for rhythmic embellishments.
